First Impressions

First Impressions

For many (if not most) restaurant, bar, or hotel operators, there comes a moment when you look at your staff and think “I really do not like how our shirts or uniforms look”.  Maybe the style is “tired’, maybe they are a little worn, maybe your logo has changed and the shirts have not, or maybe your staff wears no logo uniforms at all… So… maybe it is time for a change.

What constitutes a “good”  uniform. First, make sure the “look” matches the “feel” of your establishment. No use wearing a formal shirt in a pizza joint! Second, make sure they are comfortable! Fit is important and fabric is too. Are the shirts long enough, are they too thick ot thin, are they a good fabric that will be durable? If they feel good your staff will enjoy wearing them. Next, think about how you want your logo presented on the shirt (or other item). Will you give your staff a choice of several different styles or colors? Will you get creative with your logo or with some tag lines?

Uniforms do not have to look too “uniformy” (is that even a word??).  But they can give your place a nice first impression and obviously allow your patrons to easily identify the staff of your restaurant, hotel, or bar.
